Carolyn is the owner and expert Optometrist here. Graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Applied Science Optometry degree, furthering her skill set with a Graduate Certificate of Ocular Therapies in 2012, and having the added advantage of having worked for local Ophthalmologist Dr Kitchen before purchasing the optical practices in 2014.

She has a real eye (pun intended) for detail and vast knowledge of all things ocular. When she's not protecting your eye health, she's enjoying time with her beautiful family and is an active member of her church and community. You can find Carolyn in Gladstone on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. And in Boyne on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.


    Your Optometrist will promptly address any eye health problems detected during your eye test. Further and more specialized testing may be required. Wherever possible, your Optometrist will formulate a treatment plan to manage your condition. You may be referred to an Ophthalmologist or Ocular Health Specialist for further care if indicated.

When she's not working at our Boyne practice she's gallivanting around the countryside and overseas with her hubby, family and friends.

She is currently completing her Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing to build on the expertise she's developed over the last 13 years. She thoroughly enjoys using her creativity to create fun and educational social media content for our Facebook and Instagram pages and in her spare time, loves camping, fishing and hanging out with her family and friends.

    Fiona has been with Boyne Optical for over 5 years. She is our resident Finance Officer and coffee enthusiast. Not only is she a whiz at Excel, she is a conscientious, happy and helpful team member. In between work, church and being a mother to 3 handsome teenage boys, life can be quite hectic. However when she does manage to get some spare time she is an avid musician, singing and playing in local band 7 Whales of Moscow. She has a passion for running, having competed in her first full marathon last year and training hard for the next one.

Not one to sit still, she successfully juggles her work with us as well as promoting her own natural and chemical free dreadlocks business, Luv You Loc Time, as well devoting her appreciation for art and music throughout the community. She is an active member in the arts department for our local festival Under The Trees.
